Yehoshua Front

July 29, 2010

Russia, 1946
“I observe life as a visual, sensual language of air, view, space, expressions and body language.” – Yehoshua Front

Yehoshua Front immigrated to Israel in 1957 and studied art with Joseph Schwartzman, Avigdor Stematzky and Moshe Rosenthalis. He has a great love for Tel Aviv and often paints the city and beaches in bright expressionist tones and soft brush strokes. Front´s excellent use of color highlights his spiritual connection to the land and the people that inhabit it. His optimistic paintings are celebrated in Israel where he has been widely exhibited. He is currently a Professor at the Jaffa Institute of Art.
