Yaacov Eisenberg

Pinsk, Belarus 1897 – Israel, 1965

Yaacov Eisenberg studied at the School for Arts and Crafts in Vienna before he moved to Israel in 1913 and became one of the first artists to study at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design. He was well known for his series of murals and plaques around Tel Aviv. He was also a talented colorist and his landscapes capture the optimistic romance of the new Jewish settlers in Israel.
